On the afternoon of January 8, 2021, at the invitation of our school, Fan Lefeng, associate professor of Southern University of Science and Technology, delivered an academic report titled Numerical Simulation of Rainfall Landslide in Waterbasin and Permafrost Degradation on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. This report was presided over by Professor Dou Zhi, and teachers and students of our school actively participated in this academic report.

The report mainly introduces the research results of rain-induced landslide, and shares the next research ideas on the numerical simulation of the degradation of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. In rainfall type landslide study, set up watershed scale rain type landslide risk simulation and evaluation platform system. The platform fully considering the soil stress history, the spatial heterogeneity of the physical and mechanical properties, the dynamic changes of the rainfall time series characteristics, soil structure and preferential flow and geomorphic evolution history, the results of the study deepens the understanding of hydrological - mechanics mechanism in rainfall landslide. During the interactive session, students were eager to ask questions. Mr. Fan Linfeng patiently answered students' questions and discussed with teachers in the meeting room, sharing his research experience and providing effective suggestions for teachers and students in related research.
