Nowadays, Professor Ge Ying has carried out and accomplished the important research project such as Key technology and application toWind PowerGeodesignin complex terrain regions based on the cloud GIS, and achieved the First Prize in Geographic Information Scientific and Technological Progress Award 2018.

Under the support of the major science and technology project of Yunnan Province, this project introduced the Geodesign framework into the common workflow of wind power planning, addressed the issues such as micro-sitting for wind farms, wind simulations with terrain environment, and geographic information sharing, etc. Furthermore, a software was developed about the platform of cloud services for wind power geodesignin complex terrain regions. The project-based results have been applied for wind power, photovoltaic electric, water field, etc.
