On the afternoon of November 29, 2020, at the invitation of Professor Ge Ying from the Department of Surveying and Mapping Science and Engineering, Associate Professor Pu Yingxia from the School of Geography and Ocean Sciences of Nanjing University gave an offline special report entitled Theory, Application and Progress of Geostatistics. This report was hosted by Professor Ge Ying from the Department of Surveying and Mapping Science and Engineering. More than 100 teachers and students from our school participated in the offline academic report.

This report systematically introduces the origin of geostatistics, the basic principles, application fields and research progress of the Kriging interpolation method. And through the solution of the semivariance function and the interpretation of the semivariance graph, the principle of Kriging interpolation is explained in detail. Finally, she analyzed the application and research of Kriging interpolation method in remote sensing image processing with examples, the combination of theory and practice made the students feel profound. In the interactive session, Associate Professor Pu Yingxia patiently answered questions from students and conducted academic discussions with teachers in the venue, providing effective suggestions for related researches of teachers and students.
