On September 19th, 2017, invited by the Department of Surveying Science and Engineering at the School of Earth Sciences and Engineering, Prof. Michele Crosetto visits School of Earth Sciences and Engineering, Hohai University. Professor Michele gave a lecture entitled "Deformation Monitoring by Means of Ground-based and Satellite SAR" to us, and the relevant of the School of Earth Sciences and Engineering attended the report.
Prof. Michele Crosetto’s presentation includes three parts, The first part was the PSI product; the second part was the Ground-based and Satellite SAR; the third part was the real aperture radar interference and the applications. Based on the method of spaceborne and GBSAR interferometry, the presentation showed the application of this technology in landslide and deformation of large buildings.
In discussing the interactive section, Michele Crosetto answered the questions from teachers and students.
After the report, Prof. Michele Crosetto held a symposium with relevant teachers in our institute and exchanged views on further academic exchanges and cooperation.
Michele Crosetto holds a doctorate in Topographic and Geodesic Sciences from Politecnico di Milano(1998).He specialized in Geodesy, Potogrammetry and GIS in Lausanne(EPFL) and Zurich(ETHZ) from1993 to 1995. He was worked in the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission in Ispra. Italy(January 1999-July2000) and as a researcher at the Cartographic Institute of Catalonia. He has formed part of the Institute of Geomatics since 2002.Since January 2014 is with CTTC, where now he is head of the Geomatics Division. His main research activity is related to the analysis of spaceborne, airborne and ground-based remote sensing data and the development of scientific and technical applications using active sensor types. He has been involved in a number of projects of the 5th, 6th and 7th Framework Programmers of EU(Rapsodi, Galanhad, SubCoast, PanGeo, etc.) In addition, he has been involved in different projects funded by ESA. He is co-chairman of the WG VII/2,”SAR Interferometry” of the ISPRS.
